hope you didn't buy that/pay top dollars for that because that is a fake.
687 is no longer part of the MLP family... went to a Kiss fanatic in Texas. Great guy, he took it to one of the Horror convention things (i think) where Ace was appearing. He had Ace sign the guitar and bought a display case for it..he sent me a pic of it with Ace's sig... very very cool. Sold it for what i had into it... although Ace did not sign it for free- I think he has a standard fee for signing guitars which is much more than say signing a photo.
I regretted selling, but was glad it went to a good home!
Sorry to be so late to the party, but I'm new here.... I got #2 used from GC, with only a scuff on the case....
Greetings from Philadelphia!
WOW! Pretty amazing piece you own my friend and very cool. Care to post pics?
Really? (I'm not asking as a jerk, I legit didn't know this was/is a fake), how do you know? And how would someone go about learning what to look for?
Who owns it now and has Ace ever tried to get it back? Any back story as to why Ace doesn't own it any more?
So, it appears there are still some of these floating around, as not all 1000 have been accounted for, does that mean there are still some available for purchase? What's a fair price for a used, what was the sticker price originally, and is anyone willing to sell/trade one away?
IIRC correctly, he sold it around 2007-08 to raise funds to complete the "Anomaly" solo album. I saw something on a KISS podcast called "3 Sides of the Coin"....it was an interview with a guy who was working with him at the time...I think this is the right link here:
No problem. Here is the COA. Notice it does not include a number outif 1000 and Ace signed the COA with a ball point pin!
Here's the guitar.
You have to consider that fhese guitars sold for like $699 originally. I think they were released in 2012. I came late to the party in December in 2013 and used prices for the epi's were in between $900-1800 bucks. That's with the original case, coa, all case candy and mint. I wound up with 3. 1 to play and 2 to display including the special ace one..
You can still find them... Not by GC or Sweetwater, or MF. But you can still find them on eBay. Just beware of fakes. Pay attention to details... Trc, finish... It's not a flame top. I've seen bootleg budokan's but they are all Gibsons. Still be careful,
If you find one, make sure it comes complete with case and make sure the serial number on the guitar matches the one on the COA Good luck!
Also, the list of Budokans we have listed on this forum are just compiled from people who visit this forum. The others are out there. Just be patient!
I have one of these mint condition, all case candy Budokan's you speak of.
What's the offer?

Sent you a PM! If available I am interested.
#299 is on its way to me right now.
We expect a full set of photos from unboxing to playing.
I'll work on that...
They are great guitars. You will not be dissapointed.
