I kept telling my self "I'll get to it, I'll get to it", and before I knew it, it was a huge undertaking. Life just got in the way. I got way too busy.

Bad Winter as well. Seems like every time I had time to do it, it thunder stormed out here. And with what I do for a living, that throws a whole 'nuther set of issues around town.

I have a shop for the Hot Rod and the old Jag and a couple Bikes. Unfortunately it is also where all my tools..work bench..storage for all of it. Tools get used and left on the bench in summer,,as it's 115* in my west facing shop.
The other garage is where we keep family stuff..wife's car and another MC I have.
Just spent a thoroughly enjoyable weekend working in both..

Sore from skull to toes now..tools will wait. Soon 75* everyday,,that's when I organize..watch a football or MLB playoff games..smoke a cigar,,

Right now it;s Advil and whiskey and Sour Diesel///

@LtDave32, do you have a hard time philosophically throwing out wood scraps?

My Brother builds and when he moved houses, he had a HARD HARD time throwing any of the scraps out :laugh2:

We're in the midst of a major purge and I'm loving every minute of it. It feels great. Can't wait till we're done. I may be about to become a minimalist.

I swept out the garage today. Mrs. G likes it clean and uncluttered and always available to park two cars in.

Oh, you don't know the HALF of it. I can't stand throwing hardwood scraps away. I hang on to the useless things for dear friggin' life.

Even totally USELESS contour cuts around bodies. Seriously. There they are in a tote container.

Could I use them for smoking meats? :hmm:. Swamp ash ribs? Mahogany pulled pork?

Believe me, My Friend, I KNOW! My Brother is the exact same way. It pained him to get rid of any of the scraps.

I build crap outta wood for a living. I HAVE to burn the scraps or I'd have an acre of them by now. I have a hard time throwing out anything too. :)

Dave....it works! I ran out of charcoal for the BBQ and ended up using some maple cutoffs to make dinner. Best tasting flame maple steak I ever had! (swamp ash burns too fast)

I think I need to call joey d out to fumigate the garage. Lotta bugs in there.

Just one of his infamous bowel movements would neutralize all life inside that room.

a spare room, a basement or garage...i just call them all pre-dumpster holding areas

and tell myself it will get there eventually..

most times things go from the spare room to the basement, then to the garage which usually is the order before dumpster time...that buys me a few years at each stage to really see if i want to trash something...

Lt Dave I did a major garage clean this spring. Way overdue - over 3 years including all the remnants of a complete house reno.

It was a whole day but wasnt all that bad. Biggest thing was all the saw dust and like you mentioned the scattered tools.

Now if I could just keep the falling leaves out whenever the overhead door opens...................
