We can all see the guitars these were modeled after, but I don't see any logos in the video that tells whether these are counterfeits.

Where did you get the vid? It looks like they are building LPs along with Teles and some that look PRS. Don’t know of any legit makers that do that.

Here's a beautiful Chinese Eastman. Shaped like a 335 obviously.

    Fake?

    Not to me, YMMV.

    Just YouTube.

I see an Ibanez "monkey grip" body, and what looks like Dean, PRS, Gibson, Fender, and I don't know which acoustics are being copied (double-cutaway....whoa!).

But when I looked at the headstock logo of the fake P-Bass, it didn't look Fender-ish.

The "Strat" headstocks definitely weren't using a Fender logo.

There's something on the PRS type necks but i can't make it out. And the shot cuts away real quick when the camera gets up to the headstock.

The "World Market" for things is huger than we can wrap our heads around.

    Ponder this for a second.....

    upload_2018-1-1_17-44-5.png

There are more people ADDED TO WORLD POPLATION since the release of Appetite for Destruction, than there were total humans in existence when the first Les Paul went on sale.

Just because you don't see this stuff on the shelf at GC, doesn't mean there isn't a market that keeps thousands of people employed every single day.

Looks like more "hand made" guitars are coming out of there than many of the major brands can claim.
Gotta love the guy spraying the Tele body without a mask on. Yeah, that's good for the old respiratory system.

The "OSHA violations" in the video are one of the many reasons these factories can be profitable.

Without a doubt, they'd be shut down in a heartbeat if they were operating out of North America.

Yes interesting stats for sure. Is that AFD marker on the graph an official statistic release from guitar manufactures? :laugh2:

Anyway I'd be the first to admit I've got a lot of good stuff from China. Everything from $3 flip flops to $7 single point rifle slings to sunglasses. You have to wait 45 days for them.

In a way I wrestle with buying from there -but not much apparently. It's not my duty to provide a living to some guy closer and pay $45us plus $30 shipping for the exact same $7 dollar item from a US supplier who in some cases got it from the same Chinese factory. If that makes sense.

    Is my reasoning off? perhaps.

I counted only two or three respirators (paper mask variety) in the whole video. I guess it isn't an OSHA-compliant facility.

Those first necks are Jackson knock offs.

I totally wish people would stop buying these.

    However, I don't think @Who is guilty ;) :laugh2:

    Truth.

I really don't give a shit where my stuff is made, as long as I get what I pay for, value wise.
