I used to own a '80s Charvel San Dimas.. It wasn't like a Stratocaster except for the similar shape. And it had the "pointy" headstock. I would post a picture but Photobucket won't let me anymore.
This is what the MIM EVH Wolfgangs are doing, quartersawn one-piece maple neck with "hand-rubbed oil finish", and non-recessed FR.
And they're amazingly comfortable, fast necks... and they look great after some wear...
I've got a Desolation that I love to pieces. I'd love to pick up a hardtail San Dimas promod, but I'd have to sell my LP Special. Decisions, decisions.
I'd take a Charvel Pro Mod over a LP Special on any day of the week!
I have both the US Custom Shop (music zoo limited run) and the MIA Charvel (first generation San Dimas). I highly recommend getting the Custom Shop.
I have/had 80s US Charvels too, those are very different from what FMIC offers today. Simply because back then most were actual custom orders, hence, have a more" personal feel" to them.
I also bought this last week and it will be here in a couple days.... I'll grab a neck for it in a couple weeks.... I LOVE these Charvels... Green SoCal will be next
It's been said a plenty, but I'll pile on anyway.
Buy you a damn Charvel, you won't regret it. I have a rocket red So Cal and it's awesome. Love love love it.
My Charvel's are keepers.. except the black desolation.. it's long gone.
The 475 I've had since '90. Picked up the SoCal a few years ago. Great guitar for the money.
