Hey, I was wondering what y'all were using for capacitors in your strats, or if you are even using any.

What readings are you using? .1/.022/.047/0.50? Orange drops/Chiclets/Bee's?

I have a set of Sliders 57's with the NOS wire coming my way, and I will be using Alessandro 250k pots and a Fralin Blender, but I am stuck on a capacitor.

I'm looking for a warm and clean sound to compliment the pickups and the guitar.

    Thanks.

I have a .033 PIO cap from Jonesy, I couldn't be happier with it. I use Hot Noiseless pickups with 500k pots, with a master tone control and a Deaf Eddie pickup selector

I got these from Jonesy and they realy DO make a big differnce in
    tone and clarity!
I have them on all three of my strats and my fender basses

This is the capacitors that were on my Fender Basses, amazing tiny little toys
no wonder the tone was crap before

Thanks for the varying response, seems like most of the modern style strat wiring hovers around the .022-.033 range.

I'm definitely going to probably go the PIO cap as it made a huge difference with the bee's in my LP.

Did any of y'all convert to just a master volume and tone, or did you keep the same and just add a blender pot?

I currently have a .047 PIO Jensen in my Strat and it sounds very woody and open. I've also had a NOS .05 ceramic disk (one of those huge ones like in the old Fenders) and it added some bite and snap to it. Both are great.

Whatever value you use will depend on the sound you seek when you roll off the tone knob. Many love the sound of a .033 on a Strat. It's a bit less "wah" like with the tone rolled off than the higher values are.

Is yours are pretty warm tone with that cap? I have a few from him, but I'm seeking a warm and clear tone for the strat.

Thanks, I've been going through his site for a little bit now since your previous post. He has tonnnss of options.

My Road Worn 60's has an .047 Jensen and it was a huge difference in tone.

My 95 American Standard LE has a Lone Star Strat set up that is all stock for now.

I got a LUXE chicklet PIO cap from RS guitarworks.

Love the smooth tone I get. Probably could have gotten a cheaper PIO somewhere else but then again, the GAS was pretty rancid that week and went all out.
