Hi- im rewiring my 1981 greco ss-700 and wondered if anyone could confirm which pick ups i have please.

I know they should be pu-2s but they dont seem to match the spec.

The neck is 7.28 and the bridge 7.35. They have alnico magnets, but they seem quite weak.

The maxon codes are 210609. It's smudged on one pick up but clearer on the other.

They have braided hook up wire.

I have some similar but they have gold screws.
Could also be U1,2,3000's as well.
Yours are from June 9th 1981

If the magnets are black (ceramic) then you probably have U-1000s. From the photo they look a bit like they are Alnico which they could be U-2000s, PU-2s, or early Screamin'.

Hi- thanks for the replies. The magnets are alnico. They seem quite weak in comparison to other magnets I have though.

I really like the neck pick up, but I'm thinking of replacing the bridge one. Its hard to make it match the volume of the neck and it doesn't seem to push the amp well. I'll maybe try a magnet swap first.
