It's very late, but I'm really excited to say that my very first build - Gibson V replica - is, essentially, done as of tonight. Took nearly a year. Started with horrible slabs of mahogany (cupped and warped). But, dammit, this turned out pretty good, flaws and all - so many flaws. Made every mistake possible but learned a ton. I'll post more about it tomorrow (maybe) but just happy to finally get my first build done. Plugged it in and psyched that I got the wiring right on my first try (that's rare - haha). Specs: Body/neck: African mahogany Fretboard: ebony w/ abalone dots and extra jumbo frets (never using XJ again) Pups: Gibson 500T/496R, CTS 500k pots HW: Kluson tuners, Gibson knobs, TonePros TOM WD pickguard All that needs to be done is drill holes for the custom TR cover w/ my son's name, intonate and see if I can fix the atrociously-high action. I'm sure I screwed up the neck angle, so that may not be very possible.
