    (smooth old BBC RP voice)

    "Dear Boy,

I suspect that you would have the utmost difficulty playing with that level of inability.

One has heard you at Bridport and you played with dexterity and in tune"

    "Unlike Mr Berry!"

    Pour yourselves another one....

Here's a somewhat beer-addled, late night jam of us doing How Many More Times... how loose? Brilliant that Woder's came up to sing for us here! My mate Tim who came down with us recorded this one on his iPad.

All those sniffy types who like to hear the comparison between some of the best sounding humbuckers and P-90's out there (that just happened to be installed on two of the finest guitars EVER made) need to hear Mark and myself 'duelling' here! haha!

    Great fun.

We've had some cracking sub-aqua moments over the years of Bridport - I'm not certain everyone revels in them quite as much as you Mark, but I've become a big fan of that mix of enthusiasm and trying to play beyond ability, or sometimes just trying to remember how the song goes and making it up as we go along.

I've not been playing this year, aside from the odd long-standing booking left over from last year, but playing with you all at The Crown has somewhat re-ignited my enthusiasm. Too easy to forget it's supposed to be fun until it genuinely is fun again.

You played great - I really enjoyed what you did at Bridport. I'm sure Phil will learn a lot from you, just make sure he's good for the money before you start teaching him. ;) (He's frighteningly good, isn't he? If I was closer to Bridport I'd be talking to Phil about lessons.)

Mark - that would be fab. Thanks for those kind words. Next year we'll try to have some material planned in advance if you like? :thumb:

Chuck has always been a perfectionist and has a history of throwing strops if things aren't done his way. Watch and enjoy.............:thumb::laugh2:

true Chuck story, with a witness (BET) when we saw Chuck Berry as mere youths..well, he was always cantankerous..he refused to hire a band, and would get a pick up band to back him wherever his gig was. When Brian and I saw him in Pittsburg, he literally threw the drummer off stage in the middle of a tune, and requested a new one-from the audience:laugh2: a dude came up, and played the rest of the gig from there. wonder if he ever got paid:hmm:

Oy. Schidney will take strong exception to that imagery!

But now that you've gone there...I was thinking...
