Make sure you find time to have a Lobster Roll in Maine!
Harmony, if you make it to the "Lobster Shack" in Cape Elizabeth, be sure to order the cole slaw. Very good and very unique. Cape Elizabeth is also where Portland Headlight (Ft. Williams) is located. Two for one! YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE LOBSTER SHACK!!!
Gee, Saco is really nice. My brother was looking at moving that way many moons ago. This time of year along the Saco River is really beautiful.
Glad to read you're enjoying yourself. Don't hesitate to get a hold of me if you run into problems.
If you are on the Shore road in Cape (Fort Williams is off of Shore Road), hit the Cookie Jar for dessert (is it me or do most of my landmarks revolve around food?).
Ya know, that sounds interesting! I LOVE OYSTERS, Raw, Fried, Pan Fried, any way I can get them! YUMMMMM!
..and beer: Deweys's, Gritty's, Ri Ra, Flatbread Pizza...
YOU should run a semi annual Maine "Yum Yum Eat 'em Up" tour in these areas for MLPers. LOL
I'd sign up! (I guess we're gettin' old) LOL
It'll be tough on the liver and the liver (glucose and alcohol...), half pub crawl, half bakery crawl.
No problem, I'm sure there's a few coffee spots we can add into the mix as well! And bathrooms! LOL
Now it sounds even better!
One other of my favorites is Harmon's Hamburgers in Falmouth (a few minutes north of Portland). They're only open a couple hours a day for lunch.
I was surprised to see it listed as one of America's Iconic Diners.
Greasy burger with onions and French fries & vinegar.
Okay TD, I caved in and stopped at the Cookie Jar. Got one of their special coffees and Lobster Tail
My favorite spot for a greasy cheeseburger is Richard's Dairy & Seafood on 114 in East Sebago.
When I worked construction, I was out that way a lot. I had more than a few of their burgers (in my dirty construction mitts).
My son's favorite donuts in the world are made fresh, there.
I Yam! I Yam!
Decided on a Lobster tonight .
Then as one of the suggested places Ri Ra.
Who needs google when you guys give good advice! Tour guides right here!
Ri Ra is a solid spot.
I just realized that 2/3 of the recommendations are about food. That raises a chicken/egg question about the prevalence of obesity around here.
Oh my.... Think of the poor lobster's...
