Harmony, Portsmouth NH has a lot of upscale and New England-ee restaurants. A few eateries sit
on the water. There is music and theater outdoors at Prescott Park. They ask for a donation. I've
seen Arlo Guthrie there; unfortunately missed Lucinda Williams who played the park a couple
    years back.

Portsmouth is highly walkable town too. Nice little coffee and or pastry shops. Go local there and stay
away from the Big Name national chains.

From Portsmouth you can shoot up the high way to Portland Maine...

In Maine go to Old Towne in Portland. Again, nice little restaurants, bistros, Korean, Chinese, etc as well
as New England sea food. Portland is also very walkable...

The Portland Museum of Art is little but lovely and usually have good shows.
    This is from their blurb:
Our collection consists of over 18,000 artworks, ranging from Andy Warhol and Winslow Homer
to Louise Nevelson and Claude Monet.

Enjoy your trip to new England...and remember...you can't get there from here... :laugh2:

    Oh and I forgot... :photos:or it didn't happen...okay?

Thank you for the info :)

I did manage to get to Portsmouth and Portland among other places in Maine .
Had a good time and then went all over New Hampshire .
What a beautiful State. Photographers paradise I’m sure .

Back to Boston now and working off the food I ate on my trip to Maine :laugh2:

When we got to Concord NH, there was a fund raising event happening there . Went to take a look and come across a bunch of State and local cops in some unusual footwear :laugh2:

Always loved the Pour House in Boston (on Boylston St.), from way back when.

I was surprised how well they walked in them like it was natural or something.
They had to walk a mile in those .

Harm, in case you missed Kane's donuts, they have a store at the Prudential Center, in Boston.

I gots to start looking at the time stamps on these entries...

Glad you had a good time, Harmony. Too bad the colors hadn't arrived yet. I read that New Hampshire
makes more tourist money during the Fall colors than any other season...even ski season...which
    surprises me.

    Enjoy Boston

Donuts are healthy. If it weren't for donuts, I would have starved to death, years ago.

Oct 1-Oct 31 is (IMO) the best time to be in Maine and in the woods (I draw the line at 10/31 because the deer season starts 11/1 and while I like to be in the woods in Nov, I am more selective about when and where). I would spend much of that time, each year, in the woods with my dad, bird hunting. From Cumberland to Bethel, from Gilead to Grand Lake Stream. The weather is beautiful (normally cool) the vistas are unparalleled (rolling hills of autumn color) and the company incomparable. This will be the first October in 50 years that my dad probably won't be able to get out to hunt. He had some health complications, late summer, and is still on the rebound. I am trying to get up there to get him out for a little field walking with the dog, but scheduling life is a mofo.

It has been crazy warm and humid in Boston the past week. I feel we gave Harmony a false feeling of the usual crisp October air.

    I only flew home yesterday.
I didn’t get to meet anyone from MLP though I did get to talk to HeartStrings and Tone Deaf. I was busy running all over the place but had a good trip to the East Coast :)

DI you are right . It was cold and cloudy the first day there but it suddenly warmed up to the 70’s and 80’s. At least it was not humid like it is here in Oklahoma .
Loved the weather over there .
