I want the middle position of my BB to fire up all three pickups.... how is that done?? Thanks
DONT DO IT !!!! It will rip a hole in the fabric of both time and space .
.. Just seems goofy to have a beautiful pickup that doesn't work. The middle position USED To light up the middle And the bridge, but the shop re-did some soldering and now no-worky.
I always like the idea of all three... Isn't that how Ace's are set up?
no ace only has the bridge wired middle and neck are not wired , and slammed down to the bottom .
the best way to do this is to look at the explorer 3 wiring diagram but you will need 1 more switch . it will give you every possible combination
look at the pick ups
Thanks for the explanation... I didn't know. I'll drop the middle one down and out of the way.
There are ways to do it.
I actually ended up rewiring the toggle switch on mine for "normal" bridge and neck operation g and have the middle "on" all the time- I blend it in or out with a volume pot. I have separate volumes for each of the three pickups with a single tone and push-pulls for all 4 pots giving a coil split option for each as well as phase change.
My pickups are a Duncan '59 neck, Custom Custom middle , and Custom 5 bridge
This is the original 3PU Les Paul schematic: http://archive.gibson.com/Files/schematics/LPCustom3PU.PDF
Operates as: bridge / bridge & middle / neck
I saw a recent video in which Ace said he only has the bridge pickup wired.
