I've used a lot of different strings, and I keep coming back to Boomers, so good choice.

One thing to keep in mind with strings is that it is possible to buy 2 different brands and have them be the same exact strings--so be aware of that.

Don't be afraid to experiment with different brands though-or different types within the same brand.

I really like the Gibson Vintage Reissue strings - Pure Nickel light gauge 10-46. The have a very vintage warm tone, and great feel. I have found that I broke a couple of the 10's though. Maybe need to go a bit heavier. Going to try D'addario next - nickel.

Personally, I use D'Addario EXL115 Nickel Blues/Jazz Electric Guitar Strings on my Les Paul, 11's but I will sometimes switch to a .12 high E.

    Rotosound blues or Thomastik hybrid.

Rotosounds feel WAY awesome, sound better than any string I've played other than the Thomastik. Thomastiks are expensive though.

Either way, everybody that's played on my guitars and felt the Rotosound strings, has switched. Sound better, feel better, TUNE UP RIGHT AWAY, and don't break very easily...if they do, they provide you with an extra high -E string.

I don't think there's a "best" string, like a lot of other people have said...

But I really like Knucklehead Super Mullets 11-50.
