Hey! I responded to a six year old poll.

    The correct answer is still:

    Other - OCD

    Well f$ckit I'll play. . .

I just traded my OCD for a Sparkle Drive Mod. On mod 3, it has a better (to my ears) gain structure into my amp (Mesa Dual Rec) than the OCD at lower volumes. At stage volume, they are about even.

I need the versatility as I use this amp for everything; gigging, home practice and recording so I need to be able to play quietly.

I had a TS but the tone control seemed to be nothing but a high cut filter. Then I got turned onto the Bad Monkey. What I like about it is that it has a low and high tone controls. After getting the DSL40C, I use it as a boost. And I can dial in a bit of mud or sand as the mood hits.

I run different amps and find that I need several overdrives. Personally I dont like Tubescreamers (or clones) on Marshall type amplifiers and wind up using compressors or other boxes to push the front end a bit. On Fender type amps I use tubescreamers with great effect.

Sometimes i like using a couple different drives and stack them to get the sound I like.

There really isnt a best, it depends on what you need for a job.

I miss my silver Klon and one day will have another. I had both an original ts-808 and the ts-10. Of the two, I preferred the ts-10. It had a little more bite. I'll get another one day.

Right now I have an oddfellow caveman v2 and its awesome!
