i currently have a pod x3 live running through a line 6 spider jam, which at low volumes in great, and the x3 live itself is amazing, but at high volumes its a nightmare for feedback, i heard its because the guitar is essencially going through two modellers and its causing feedback, so what amp is good to be used with a multi effects board such as the x3 live?

I plug mine in the slave in jack of my Laney GH50l using SED 6l6gc powers. Works well.

I run mine through a bookshelf stereo with Pioneer 3-way speaker boxes with 12" subs. Sounds pretty awesome! If you want a portable solution, you might look at a good loud solid state guitar amp.

I remember seing a 20-watt tube amp made specilly with a place in the top for the Line 6 Pod or Behrenger modeller, but I cant remember the name....must have been too much tequila.

Atomic 50 would be an excellent choice.

I run mine through a Fender Bassman--warms it up and is loud as heck...sound incredible.

I'd pump it through the clean channel of a Hiwatt Higain 50 combo or half stack. Those things are amazing for the price and will take you anywhere with ease. On their own they have a lovely warm clean and the higain channel will take you into metal territory, no trouble. Combo is £699 at Dolphin iirc.

I played at a buddy's church this weekend, and they recorded the service...I went direct into the PA, and from what I heard of the recording (a snippet of a song) it sounded great.

I'll try and get an mp3 today from my friend.

For the 'fun' rock band I play in I run it through my Bassman, and it sounds great. You can run it to the 'effects in' on any amp and just use the power section of the amp--I've done that a couple of times.

Since my Bassman has two sets of inputs, I run the stereo outs into each channel...fantastic results.

I use a Fender Twin with great success. However, I have seen a rig somewhere on MLP where a guy was using a Mesa Stereo 2:50 or 20/20 and a 1X12 or 2X12 cab...to me, that would be the ideal rig. Easy to haul around and plenty loud.

Exactly. You don't need tubes or anything fancy, basically you need something that can pump a good signal to some kickass speakers without distorting or coloring the sound. Best to keep it simple and do all your tone tweaking on the POD.

If the Atomic Reactor interests you, there is one on eBay right now:

Atomic Reactor 112 Tube Amp & Line 6 PodXT Pod XT - eBay (item 130391376918 end time May-23-10 19:36:11 PDT)

That particular one has a PodXT with it, but I suppose that wouldn't matter if the price was right. Since the amp was designed for use with a digital amp modeler, it might not be a bad way to go. Check it out. I don't see that they are still available new, so a used one is the only way you will find it now.

Here's another without all the extras (cheaper too):

Atomic Reactor 112-18 Watt Tube Amp - eBay (item 120570774131 end time May-23-10 11:56:07 PDT)
