Pictures of wicked hot girls!

I genuinely appreciate the comments a lot. As you'll find when you do your own build threads (hint, hint :naughty:), the encouragement and support from people here really helps you along.

Can't wait for it to be your turn! :thumb:

Well, we all gotta be good at something, right? :slash:

I'm rather looking forward to starting a build thread too. But I think I need to assemble some (a lot) things first. Since I'm starting from scratch (in terms of knowledge, skill, tools, and that weird rash I got in Thailand), there is a lot to pull together before I begin. I highly doubt anyone will want to read a bunch of posts about me ordering a chisel and then making and eating a PB&J (with hi-rez pics, of course) while I sit around waiting for the mailman to deliver the chisel.

Then again, people are into some unusual things. ;)

Do you think there would be any interest in a thread from a woodworking noob that chronicles the process of getting things up and running from (below) the ground up?

Then again, maybe there are things I can do to maintain reader interest during the lulls...

...have you met my fret filing assistant? :naughty:

I think a thread which goes from the very beginning through to a completed guitar would be pretty interesting. After all, if people aren't into it, they don't have to read, right? I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't ever read comment on my threads and think to themselves, when they see yet another, "Gaaah...that Barnaby guy again. What a tosser." :D

A lot of people wanting to start building come to this site, and, as wonderful as the professional builders are, I suspect that it's the guys who start with little or no prior experience and still somehow manage to make a really cool instrument who are the real drawcard for the general public. They make people realize that it is possible. So yeah - thread away, sez I! :dude:

E R, by all means, do a thread. if it wasn't for this forum and the ability and privilige to post a thread, i would never had made the plunge. i too am comfortable around wood and machinery, as i build furniture for a living, but this is a whole nother alligator. it brings attention to detail to another dimension, as functionality means more than three out of four chair legs hitting the floor.

i find that i pay more attention in my furntiture building now that i have started building.

    start a thread and enjoy.

    Thanks!

You're right, but it felt pretty minor. I was fretting a fingerboard at the time and didn't even stop. A few things fell over, but that was about it.

It seemed an appropriate way to begin the year. :D

Make it blonde on blonde. For the Dylan reference and for the other...um...exotic...flights of fancy it evokes. :naughty:

Is it me, or did Jonas just use your own thread in a "show up" fashion?

I just needed a place to practice my non-existent photo posting skills - and managed to do it, to my surprise! LOL - I didn't think Barnaby, splendid chap that he is, would mind...

I'm still pleading to put a "NSFW" in front of the thread's topic, srsly!

(Not necessarily a bad thing, though!)

    :applause::applause::applause:

Perhaps an '18 or older' warning?

Then, however, we'd get nothing but 16 year olds viewing the thread...:D
