Well I sliced my finger open again, I spent some time figuring out what to play, which was a learning experience, then opened up the old wound on the first take, so it's kinda busy busy for my liking.
Played a Strat & used S-Gear on the JB preset.
Scales? I mixed up Cm pent, CM Pent, C Mixo, & CmDorian for the wild middle .

    Frank..paradice..Dot..Len all great takes..
I want to do a clean take on the LPC but felt I needed effects while stumbling with that ultra narrow 355,,

Was great to play it again. Today is restring the J200 and Dove day..

    Frank...lovely sound from that guitar
Dot...tight vibrato and sounds great as always!
Parts..love the effect, that's a wide delay! (or whatever it is) fits nice
Len... sounds great regardless of finger injuries! love how you figure out what sounds right!

cheers...it's pretty much just this..in Cm pent........ the title doesn't lie, prob the best scale pattern for guitar! 5min 3osec in to the vid for the 'in 4's' pattern

Sort of got a Steve Miller meets Steely Dan vibe from this track..so..went with a different kinda of feel. The 355 is stereo..and I mostly used it with different effects on each pickup and a blend channel.

The Pod and V-Amp are sort of entry level effects and have different response rates it seems..so I use that to get that weird wide delay/harmonic/pitch shift. I try to get the echo to sound like it precedes the clean track but pushed the clean track ahead here at times..

Used to use an Ibanez Flying pan or 2 ! (still do) with an echo (1repeat) a Showbud pedal mod'd with 20db boost and a Yamaha Lesile..and two other amps..all mic'ed
Then use the varitone to get more separation.and a mix channel..with clean channel in my headphones.\

So nobody knew what the hell I was playing..lol

I got the steely dan vibe right off the bat,,, it's a great BT.
I gonna drop down from 11's to 10's on the Strats & see if I can get through it without slicing more fingers. If that don't help, I'll be out playing golf till the snow flies.:)

well,, a lot of folks may not be set up to record & post , or have other interests , or simply don't have an hour or 2 free time to share a few ideas. Is what it is.

Pipe down Mr. Party Pants! I'm workin' on it! LOL I hope to assemble something appropriate through GOBS of trial and error! If it goes to Trial, I'll be convicted of a lot of errors! :hmm:

What did you use for strings on the Acoustics?

Disappointed with Martin Traditional..I have ALWAYS used D'Addario..and will go back to them after these. The Martin's are lifeless and feel crude in comparison, maybe 'cause I have ONLY used D'Addario Phosphor Bronze all these years..
    Buying a 10 pack..

I think it has more to do with people being self conscious. I mean you don't really need any special equipment. Most of us have a phone to record and a computer with speakers, which is what I did for awhile. We're not a very judgemental group, so I wish more people would post. Its all in good fun. But yes, it is what it is.

Is it just me, or is anybody else having trouble getting the tracks on Soundcloud to play?

Come on guys, give it a try. It's a little different with the changes but that's how we get better, playing stuff we're not comfortable with. The participation in this BTOTM seems to be waning.

The whole forum, or at least Guitar Lessons seems to be quiet just now. Summer holidays etc I suppose.
