F'n stop. Leave him alone. He spent years cultivating his own sound and you should too. Quit robbing food out of your kid's mouths by spending thousands on guitars, pickups, amps, bone nuts, bridges and other assorted parts trying to chase his sound down. Hell, he can't even remember what the hell he used most times. Besides, once you get all of that stuff you think you need, you'll probably still suck anyway. You don't have his fingers, his inner soul or his timing, which are things that made his sound what it was more so than his gear. But, let's say you actually do it. Let's say you finally nail down the right gear, the right timing, the right touch, the right notes and the right attitude and it all comes together. You finally capture the toneally correct sound everyone else has failed to thus far. After it all comes together, guess what you'll be known as- yes, just another Zeppelin clone. If you really want to copy someone, develop your own sound and then copy that. You might just stand out from all of the wannabes. Good morning.
