If you have the dispensable income, appreciate higher than typical quality craftsmanship (with exceptions of course), like how they look and like how they sound then sure, why the hell not
The Strat is $4,900 and the LP is $11,000. ??
To some, yes. Others, no.
Personally, I couldn't care less if someone thinks what I spend my $$ on is worth it or not.
Not a good comparison, these two. There are CC-esque Strats approaching 15 k. The prices are quite similar for Fender Custom Shop and Gibson Custom.
To me, they’re definitely worth the money. It sure is ridiculous but theres no need to justify this. Cars, sneakers, denim. Same thing.
I do think think Gibson Custom Shop is worth the money, but after owning a few Fender Custom Shop guitars I don't think the Fenders are worth anything close to what they charge: Marginally better than USA Standards for lots more dough.
Everyone has different priorities with regard to money and if a person has the disposable income I see no issue with it. Not my business or anyone else's. Wine cellars, record collections, cigar rooms, man caves, frequent travel..... you name the activity and it's someone's passion and hobby. I love living in a society where I can do whatever I want with my money.... no government or other regulatory body sticking their nose in my business, after I've paid my taxes.
"Worth it" is a very subjective statement, and can only be answered by the person purchasing the item. Some think Harleys aren't worth the money..... same thing with Mercedes Benz, Rolex and any other luxury item. I'm personally glad these things are available and I only wish my income level allowed me to purchase more of these luxury items. I also don't care what anyone else thinks of my spending habits. I take care of my responsibilities at home and don't put my hobby ahead of necessities at home.
My best les Paul’s have been custom shop. I also had a USA classic that was pretty great. My 2 cents.
i could care less what folks spend their non disposable income on.
personally, hell no, they're not worth it, but i wouldn't kick one
out of bed.
I think they are worth the money. If one has the money....
The aftermath with my $500 guitars I gig with last Sunday afternoon a few minutes after a friend left with his $500 guitars.
We had a blast.
Are $500 guitars worth it. Are $5000 guitars worth it?
NOBODY but the owner makes that decision.
Absolutley .....buy em both!
Get rid of the noses in the trough & all of a sudden the really expensive Guitars are not quite that expensive anymore.
They're better guitars (generally).
Worth it is up to you.
Nope on both accounts.
I wouldn't pay half for either pictured
You're better off buying vintage.
There's a butt for every seat.
