Sam (Leumas spelled backward) is an old-guard legend here.
The man is capable of scything returns to troll comments, and has lopped heads off of trolls so cleanly, there's nary a frayed edge.
I can only wish I had the instant capability of delivering the goods like Sam has. When I'm at a loss and searching for "just the right thing" to say, Leumas has already met and surpassed that challenge.
The man has had me in such convulsions of laughter, my better-half as gotten out of bed late at night and complained. "what the hell are you doing? What the hell is so funny?"
I rate him in the same company as djwillbanks, who to any long-timer here will remember as one of the gifted situational comedians here. And he's sorely missed.
djwillbanks could take an otherwise dead-on-its-feet thread and breath enough life into it to make it an epic page-turner. Leumas can do the same.
His work done on "Jimmifer" is a must-read MLP classic. Sam bested the little mama's boy at every turn. Jim never laid a glove on him.
Had the pleasure of hanging out with Leumas twice in as many Philly guitar shows. Great company.
Is he back for good now from wherever he's been?
Hope all is well for him!
Thanks for the reply! Appreciated!
Here you go, Epi Firebird X:
Sam doesn't pop in with the frequency he used to. But he's sorely missed. We all could benefit from more Leumas around here.
Just from what little I've read!
I didn't realize Butch came back this last January.
But that thong is sure his style.
ETA: lol "The Sweetest Taboo" just came on. Perfect timing!
Yeah, that's the ban I meant... He got himself banned again around February for some rather unpleasant things he said to Farkas and about his girl...
That's the ban I've been referring to. I missed the first one!
Back on topic I've been playing 9's for a while now and I think I'm going to go back to 10's.
The feel is weird under my fingertips and the bare strings are leaving stinging marks in my tips.
My guitar also sounds thin and shrill, so I'm thinking more mass=more bottom toanz... can't hurt!
Please don't tell ol rufty-tufty! I don't want a punch inna mouth! I tried it his way, just not workin' out for me. Sorry!
Whoa, time for your Prozac junior. Like armpits everyone has an opinion.
Opinions outside of those put forth by ruff tuff are not allowed.
If you disagree with his choices on string gauge, he will punch you in the mouth. He said so on page 1..
well, the OP better not show up tonight at our gig, I just restrung everything with 12's. went up from 11's for a little more oomph with the fingerstyle stuff
I don't think you need to worry, bud ... looks like mom sent him to his room some years ago.
That moment when you read through a thread wanting to comment on the original topic, and then the thread takes a totally different turn. And you think of something to comment on about that, and the thread takes another turn. And another turn. And now there are 4 dudes fluffing their pillows.
Ahh a welcome return for my fav involuntary tooth loss thread.
Hey Darrell, and everybody! I've never really gone away, but a combination of a very busy life, and a low time on this board a couple of years ago (in my opinion) kept this out of my regular loop. In the last few years I've gotten married, been raising some step kids, lost my dad way too young, taken over the family business, try to keep my doggies happy, and really try to get a couple of minutes in on a guitar here and there.
So, life's been mucho, mucho busy for me, but I pop in from time to time. I usually don't find opportunity to unload like I used to in here though.
Hope all is well!
He came up with such an off-the -wall comment in one thread a long time ago, that I instituted this award:
Then the sod went and won it a second time!
Well hopefully he'll be able to clear a docket for us again soon so us newcomers can experience the legend first hand
