I accidentally loaded an infected Flash Player phish that loads SafeFinder on to the OS. I'm using a separate computer now and I'm getting the same phish from MLP. Its not loading on other pages that I can tell.

    Anyone else?

Thank you for this important notice. I got the same thing today, did the download but have not run the installer yet ! Will delete the download and see if Adobe has a newer file.

Very sorry to hear that you got bit first though.

Yes, I made a thread about it a week ago and it almost immediately disappeared, soo....

I suppose we aren't supposed to talk about problems with the website in public or something.

Yea, well... if "the website" is introducing things to my computer that are harmful to it and to my security - someone needs to talk about it.

    Sheesh.

I saw it also in the past and today. I never down load stuff along those lines. This site won't allow me to log on early mornings.

FYI, If malware can be excluded from the equation, which some have clearly stated, it is probably being "injected" from the Adsense Site. This has happened several times over the years.

Normally Google corrected such things within a few weeks (yes, hard to believe it takes that long)

If someone who is experiencing it can grab the redirect URL then Alex could potentially put that site on an ignore list to stop the redirects.

I've been trying to figure out a politically correct way to ask a similar question.
I'm not tech savvy enough to be able to tell.
I have experienced several annoyances since the introduction of all the ads.
I'm fine with the presence of the ads and respect their right to not leave any income sitting on the table. My concerns are admittedly more based on paranoia than fact. It would be reassuring to hear that the presence of those ads isn't putting me at any risk.

I haven't had any issues since I cleaned my computer so I guess the admins did their job!:applause:

Three times now my phone has been sent to the mobile "store" to download the Uber app while browsing MLP, and not clicking a link.

I don't know which advertisement did it.

Mine did that so many times I froze the Play Store app so it wouldn't do it again. It just started doing it last week.

I've been redirected a couple times without clicking an ad.

I've also had something on MLP (I'm guessing a revolving ad because it's only maybe 1 out of 20 times I log on) bring my computer to a crawl as the fan spins up and it gets hot. I close the MLP tab in Safari and all is well again. I can't say what ad it is because every time it happens my browser is nearly non-responsive until I close the tab that MLP is in so I can't scroll back up to the top and check.

i have been having problems from my iPad and iPhone too. The message box sometimes becomes unresponsive and writing posts of more than a few words is BRUTAL.

no malware issues yet though, though I'm not running Windows obviously.

Some of the ads will also interfere with the browser and with other apps. I used to be able to read the forum while using GarageBand but that's hit and miss these days.

Have there been any updates from the staff as to what's happening? There was talk of the Like button coming back and talk of the ads being not present for paying members. Still radio silence on all this stuff I guess?

I use that thing we aren't supposed to mention so I don't "notice" the ads. Sucks that these things are happening.

Which we were explicitly instructed to do by Alex himself.

Which also he has done himself on occasion to various threads/posts.

So if you want to get smarmy and clever with us (who are instructed to do this), take it to Alex himself.

I'm confident your comments will get every consideration they deserve. :)
