If the guitar was on that almost Cooper colour in his video I would get it instead of the burst and save enough to get the case.

I hope they do expand the finish options and do something different, like Inverness Green with black/white/black pick guard and truss rod cover, even Pelham Blue would be cool. Cardinal Red would be nice.........:hmm:

If you listen closely enough you can hear every known blues player in his playing. I have not noticed the kid has an over inflated ego at all.
He seems like a good fellow that just likes to play guitar.

That's the way it goes ya know. You got any better licks to share?:thumb:

As for the Bird I like em when one pops up used around here I will grab it

I picked up my 'bird yesterday after a few weeks of playing other guitars. Damn, love the neck, pickup and playability. It's such a fun guitar that sounds really good through any amp/modeler.
Fun tip: you all know that picking close to the neck or close to the bridge allows for interesting variations of tone, but with this guitar picking right before the fretboard really gives a nice vocal tone. It's a good way to introduce some twist in your solo if you think one pickup is not enough.

Was thinking about getting another one to use for slide; wonder if this would be easy to set up for that?

    Still digging those Firebirds?
Mine reached #1 spot. Been playing it more than any other guitar lately!

Before heading back to my family home in Europe for a holiday I had a Gold bird shipped there from Thomann. I expected the wiring to be wrong and... it is. Lol.
I forgot to take a good pic of my sunburst one that works fine. Can anyone help please?
I'd post a picture of the faulty wiring but Photobucket isn't working anymore.

By the way, the guitar is cool. The color is much nicer than I had expected and the playability is really good. Apart from some shoddy bits on the fretboard edges the rest holds up real good.

You just need to change one wire on the volume pot.
There's a couple of pictures on this thread, IRC.

Indeed I moved the pickup wire from the middle to the left lug. The volume knob works ok now but the tone still doesn't and there's static as well. Not sure what the next move is.

Strange. Haven't experienced that when I did the fixing on mine.
I also changed the cap but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Got mine today! Tailpiece needed a little tweak to get the bass strings intonating properly and it could do with a new set of strings but immediate thoughts are:

    1. Great neck - why are all Firebird necks not like this?! None of that skinny rubbish!!

    2. Great pickup: like a good Tele it's got treble and spank but with power and punch too.

Mine is the polymist gold which looks really stunning in person: the perfect colour (well, maybe Pelham Blue ...) for such a cool slice of 60s Americana cool. :)

I agree on all points!

It's such a great guitar! I am still loving my PolyMist Gold, and as far as finishes go, I love the Pelham, but Inverness Green with black reflector knobs and a BWB pick guard would look the biz!

Any color would rock on the FB1.....Cardinal Red, Candy Apple Red, Fiesta Red especially, A sparkle Silver..........way too many to think of. :hmm:

I may do a capacitor upgrade, but the pickup ain't going' nowheres I tell you what...........:slash::jam:

Would any owner mind posting a cavity shot of their bird?
