    Hi,
I sent him 2 Fender tweed cabinets for restoration work in March of 2013.
I am still waiting, 4 1/2 years later. I get all worked up every time I think about it.
Have you received your cabinet back yet?

I responded to his PM, but for the sake of anyone else who might be thinking of dealing with Gregg, no I haven't received it back yet. It's been five weeks since he said he had started working on it. I will give him a little while longer before I start asking him about it again. But four and a half years is not remotely acceptable. At this point, I would demand that he return it at his expense. If he doesn't, get the police involved.

By this time for both situations, IMO, he is hoping you'd forgot about it & he gained some gear. If you take on a job to do something, for hire, you have a responsibility to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time, no excuses. At least communicate about it, if there are some setbacks. If you don't have the time, don't take on the work, or send it back with an apology.

Sorry, but I cannot fathom waiting 1 1/2 years, let alone 4 years, especially with no communication on his part. This borders on criminal, again in my opinion. I sincerely hope both of you get your equipment back, finished or not.

I've definitely given him the benefit of the doubt far too long.
I get so busy with work trying to keep my customers happy that
time just flies by. I chose Gregg since he came so highly
recommended as being the best in the business. Everything I ever read
about him was positive other than having wait a little while.
6 to 9 months seemed to be the general consensus. The last time I heard from him
was in March of this year. He was very nice and apologetic, saying my cabinets
were almost ready to come home, but he has said that a few times before.
I emailed a couple weeks ago expressing more concern than usual.
I'm still waiting to hear back.

I didn't get a response until I threatened to get the police involved. You might want to give that a try. If I manage to get in touch with him, I will tell him to finish your cabinets before he finishes mine, 4.5 years is absurd. I've not had any luck getting him on the phone either, his voicemail says that email is the best way to reach him.

If you two do not get anywhere then you should file a complaint together.

I would think that carries far more weight.

Good luck............I know exactly how you feel.

    Geez, what a nightmare.

I think the letter was a good first step. Now try the local police to give him a scare. Do anything you can do short of getting a lawyer involved, then nobody wins.

I'd move on from him actually finishing the work, although I doubt it was ever started in the first place. I'll bet he has never touched your pieces (apart from receiving the shipment) and is just feeding you a bunch of B.S.

He might actually believe he'll get to your gear, but he most likely never will. Unfortunately some of us have dealt with people like this in one form or another and know how it usually ends. Either you get your gear back without work being done or you abandon it.

Just get your stuff back (most likely unfinished) and move on.

Yep, my father still works at 80 consulting and writing reports. And like Jim, his customers get their services done on time.

They don't build them like they used to.
