This one was the first Wilshire, a 2011 Epiphone '66 Worn Wilshire with Tremotone, a really nice Worn Cherry finish. Always thought it would have been even nicer finish had it been shinier instead of the satin finish. Same neck as the Wilshire Pro according to my son, which he likes, and the mini humbuckers sounded great, but he wasn't a fan of the tremotone. For him, it was always "in the way". That was too bad, that thing is a beauty! Just gorgeous old school guitar.

I also had old school pointer washers added to the tone / volume knobs to enhance that vintage look. Epiphone used the same Tremotone from the '62 Crestwood Re-Issue, but the bridge on the '66 Worn Wilshire w / Trem is a roller bridge. The bridge studs/bushings are not the same large size you normally see on an Epiphone, they are the narrower type you find on Gibson bridges.

At least there was some interest, but the Korean made versions were way different than the single pick-up originals to be sure. Just imagine how popular a modern re-issue would be of the Coronet today, set neck, single P-90, nice finish, I think it would be a hit.

The Epi version of the Gibson SG90, Gibson's attempt at making the SG a shredder.

I'd be first in line for one for sure, I love these guitars that were no frills, anything like a Mustang, Junior, whatever, I really love them all.

And this, I should hate it but I want it.

Sweet! '60-'62 Coronet. He played a Wilshire also.

Johnny Winter - Be Careful With A Fool (1970). Check out his guitar.

Wayne Kramer of MC5 - Ramblin' Rose (1972) Two years after Kalamazoo stopped making the Wilshire. Not one of the better songs, but a video you get a good view of his Wilshire.

I couldn't find an old video of Jimi Hendrix playing his Wilshire. But in this photo he is with his '61 Wilshire with P-90's. The name of his band in this photo from 1962 was The King Kasuals. Hendrix during his Pre-Strat days.

I was scared off by the neckjoint, from my experience with a G 400 Custom
that had a bad wiggle and sounded like a warped record.
They are beautiful, and have never really heard of any neck issues.

What's really annoying is that Epiphone was going to make this, but pulled it for some reason. I luckily saved this image from a press release from a few years ago. My guess would be 2015. Was going to be called the "1964 Coronet"
