I blame the original owner: GIBSON. Seriously. Their topcoat turns color.

It doesn't "mature into creamy goodness", it turns a "white" guitar into a "yellow" guitar. If I wanted a yellow guitar, I'd buy one.

But if I want a white guitar, I can't have one. At least not for very long. I love a white Les Paul Custom, but I'll never buy one again.

The sticker-removal-problem also wouldn't exist if the topcoat didn't yellow. The "white" is still under there. It's only the clearcoat that has turned to crap.

I remember a kid on the original Harmony Central forum way back in the 90s had a brand new super-flamey PRS that his girlfriend bought for him. He promptly put a big fat sticker on it, then a short while later decided to remove the sticker. It left some residue, which he tried to clean up... with acetone. Oh, the horror... the horror.

I really don't like stickers but I love sticky things. I hate those stick on name tags. The ones that say Hello My name is, then you put a name in. I like being introduced or introducing myself. No one can read my writing, I don't mind being called Boris.

More blasphemy. I definitely would not sticker a vintage piece.

My daughter went through this sticker-on-everything phase, so I allowed her to put this one on the truss rod cover of my favourite Les Paul.

My '81 Artist has a giant control plate on the back made by a previous owner. I had a couple of 70's era decals sitting around so I threw them on there. I wouldn't put them on wood as we've seen in other pics how the finish ages a different color. But I think stickers can look cool.

Ok I have one for all the sticker lovers out there in MLP land. Hope you like it. By the way I found this on good ole sleaze bay. Don't worry it's a fake Chinese copy not a real lester. Don't think the guy will get the $599.00 he's asking for it though. But wow that's a lot of stickers. I don't like them on guitars so much and even les on auto bumpers. :wow:

my cases are plastered with them from gigs and touring. I've thought about putting a pin-up girl sticker on my seafoam green cabronita. that's it though for guitars.
