    FRENZEL Tube Amps

Anyone have any experience with this company? They have been around a long time and have a pretty good rep. Their prices seem reasonable and the products look very solid. I'm thinking of buying one of their Preamp's.

    Thank you guys!!!! :)

Was this what you wanted my opinion on? I'm sorry, Les, but I haven't heard of Frenzel amps, yet.

Looks interesting. I still have my 1/2 watt kit amp head and I found a schematic for the Matchless Hot Box....it got me thinking. :hmm:

    Not exactly! :laugh2::laugh2::laugh2:
It was given to me because of my effort in the 'Fake Epiphone Thread'. It should've been followed by a 'Epi Verification Expert' custom title but I think they didn't get around to that, yet.

The VIP thing doesn't make me any better than others who don't have it.

The Frenzel amps aren't kits. They're complete ready to play. The price for these amps is the same as many kits and they have alot of great features, options available AND they let you swap in/out all kinds of tubes.

They have separate Marshall/Fender circuits, MV defeat, Tone stack defeat etc. All very cool stuff. I'm really interested in them myself but when I consider I don't gig and never even can crank my 5W Blackheart a 15 or 25 watt amp is senseless. Senseless has never deterred me before however.

I've heard great things about them, and have seen a few killer ebay deals for them. I almost pulled the trigger on a fully tricked out black face champ, just couldnt get the scratch in time.....

His philosophy and overall style of the amps really appeals to me, simple, clean layouts with simple quality parts. Hand built made in the usa amps for around the same price as overseas production amps, kinda wish I could justify getting another amp just so I could actually play one.

This is the one I want

Not bad for under $500, the type F (fender) and M (marshall) voicing switch on the gain sounds like a killer feature, plus for another $25 you can get a switch allowing to plug in an EL34 to make it 10 watts....

Iceman, yea I like that one too. I really like the Matchless/Vox clone. 15 watts and great features. But then his Deluxe clone with Fender/Marshall options also gets me vote. The killer is they are only $100 more than that Blackface Champ aren't they? $595 if I remember right for the Vox/Matchless?

Really really don't need one. Want one yes? I like the idea of being able to try all those different tubes.

Emery Sound amps also offer that option in some very very low power amps.

Oh yeah I've heard of em'. Seem to be great great stuff. Very basic and industrial looking, but its about the tone. I'm pretty sure I've got my mind made up on a Collins Combo, but if I change my mind, this one is in the running for me.....
FRENZEL FM - 5E1SS "Champ Super Sportster"
But then I need a headshell, then a cab.........
I'd love it I'm sure, but I'm going Collins I believe for my next amp.
Lefty, these are great amps, and its sweet that he has so many variations to choose from!

Right on man. I think the hardshell is an extra $85.
