those look very interesting... you know what I wish they would have done though? have a loop in it. that's all it needs.

a loop is unnecessary. If you want an effect in front then hook it in front, if you want effects after, plug the AFB out into the input of your effect. I'm waiting for my shipping confirmation.

if you put anything after, you can't use the DI out... the DI out would be from the unit, and things before it... so if you are using your amp for your dirty tone, it will not sounds great... delay(or reverb or modulation) before dirt sounds like shit.

Seems like this is morphing into what they already had in the Amplifire.

It's considerably more stripped back. I'm enjoying that I can roll back the volume on the HBE Freidman and it cleans up to a very, very, very, light gain JMP plexi style tone. Of course the AA3 does as well.

I'm thinking that its place for use is more for using zero physical amps after it, unless of course you go into the effects loop return of your amp. I have an ART passive DI box that will work fine for time based effects after the unit if needed. It was less than 25$ iirc a few years ago. I'm scaling back on effects more so lately.
It's not gonna work for everyone, but does have some nifty things about it.

EDIT: Not so much as zero phisical amps after it, but not so much a tube amp with all the modeling available. Only an amplifier to boost signal to hear it.

It's pretty much a scaled back version of the AA3, where it's like using 9 separate amps. Or can be enabled into channel A/B mode to switch back and forth between 2 channels of your choosing. Here's a review that covers some of it.

I just got mine today and it's gonna be fun. I'll put it in my pedalboard and keep the AF3 on my desk at home for running into my monitors/headphones. I'm really going to have to fix my home computer now, because I want to load a couple of my presets into the AFB.

The stock presets are alright, but I have set up a couple of classic rock presets with the Plexi and JCM800 that I really like on the AF3, so I'm keen to copy them over.
