Wow. It seems he is HIGHY impressed with himself. He and HJ should get a band together.
That was a funny read.
The part where he walks off camera to put on the sunglasses is priceless.
.........maybe he didn’t want to be recognised.
I believe it's Al Ramano, who is the long time current owner of the AF burst. The OP is actually quoting Al Ramano's post that was on FB, and re-quoted on the other forum.
I looked for the original on FB and can't find it.
Yeah, I have not found it either, but this was how it was introduced on the other forum.
Almost as priceless as the spot where he says "you can do so much with one note", and then indulges in more pentatonic wankery.
One note is one note, buddy. Learn to goddamn count.
I know i saw it there(LPF)..
At least here when it was posted,It was a bit easier to read.
Yeah I had to close one eye and squint with the other......rants usually need to be read several times to decipher
I gave up on Gibson in the Norlin era, and to tell the truth, some of the sixties guitars sucked.
Sucked. Many of the fifties guitars felt primitive. Since they are well overpriced Ill stick with old grecos and edwards to get a Gibson that should be. They did beutiful work on hollow bodies for a long time until they left kalamazoo
Honestly... IMO, an Ace connection would lower the value of a guitar...
My brand new guitar isnt enough like a 60 year old one!!
Ignore the timbers are different species, if only they used scans!
Any legitimacy he may have is lost on me with his childish angry outburst.
Sounds like a bitter douchebag himself. Maybe he did get stung by Gibson; maybe it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
Al Romano has the original and i would guess that is not enough.......he wants to capitalize on what is just another 1959 Standard reissue made to somewhat resemble his. He must think his signature is worth something.
When it's not fun anymore, and enjoyable then what's the sense. It's just a guitar.
Sorry, my mistake. I had been told he had 2 but I only see one on his equipment list. It's about the nicest lefty burst on the planet and stupidly rare.
I found the video:
That‘s where I got it from, i.e. that he only owns one original burst. He has one or two reissues I believe and a nice lefty blackguard Tele from the 50s which should also be quite rare.
Hmm...just my thoughts
G making a guitar supposedly based on a famous one that has a slight resemblance and feels and sounds nothing like the original - how is this new to anyone, isn’t this EVERY CC since model 1 and artist series?!?
Ace being broke and being unable to afford something besides his next drink - tell me something new, this is OLD news
Ace and G screwing over Al - well deal with the devil, don’t complain when you get burned.
Al feeling bad for the public about being lied to by G and for their rapidly depreciating product - sure, he feels bad for you...but guaranteed if Henry showed up at his door with 4 unsold Aces (shouldn’t be hard to find, there are plenty of leftovers) to make amends - Al would have them for sale in a heartbeat, at full price. Funny how hurt feelings and opinions change when a nickel is involved and how quickly people will back off their feelings when they get what they want.
Personally - I think Al’s got a legit bitch with G, no doubt they screwed him in my mind - but see thoughts 1&3 - you knew what you were walking into from day 1 and did so willingly. I also doubt he’d pass up the mo eye or guitars if offered today in settlement. Hope he feels better - there’s no hope for Henry or Ace changing their ways after 40 years of these tricks.
