High 5 digits is crazy money to spend on a guitar, 6+ is just ridiculous! I agree with Rudi (RAG7890), if you have that kind of disposable income, the money is better spent on providing for others that are in need.

Just my humble opinion and YMMV.

Uh ... not gonna happen. He made his own millions ... and blew it. They owe him nothing. Gene and Paul worked their asses off to keep the KISS flame alive. When they reunited, Ace had to hire a cover band guy to teach him his own solos. Trust me, Gene and Paul knew their **** on their own.

If Ace wanted Gene to do something nice for him, maybe he shouldn't have shown up at his house in an SS uniform.

You're totally right. Peter and Paul shouldn't have done that.

The only LP I can see selling for 7 figures currently belongs to J.Page.

That's probably true? If I had the 7 figures to spend (after helping my fellow man/woman of course) though, I'd buy Frampton's '54 (preferably in it's 'early '70s state). By far my favorite LP of all-time hands down.

You think so? Given the obvious association with the almighty Led Zeppelin's guitar player....that guitar at auction would clear a million easy IMO.

Who really knows what Kirk paid for Greeny but it was UP there.

I think this Ace burst should be UP there, too.....even if it wasn't associated with Ace the top and color would command a premium even in this current market.

Those involved in the deal would strongly disagree. I have no reason to doubt their testimony. But I agree that JP's #1 would have a much better shot at cracking the 7figures ceiling.

Yeah based on all the things I've read, Greeny seems to have changed hands for a lot less than people assume.

Other than JP's guitar, the guitar that will break 7 figures won't be star-owned. It will be an UBER-top. Of this, I am very certain.

With the Koss "Burst" selling at $250K, I think Ace's would be between $300K-$400K, half a mil tops, although I don't think it'd get there.

I could see Page's getting to 7 figures and as for "Greeny" I think she topped-out when Gary Moore sold her.

Thanks for the posts and :cheers2:

Sorry to disagree sws1, but my opinion is that even if it were an uber-top, it would still need some marquee provenance, namely someone famous, to go along with it.

But it didn't sell for $250,000, not sure where you're getting these figures from

I thought I read that it sold for £130,000.00, which was about $250K U.S. when I read it (or at least I thought it was? Didn't it sell? If it sold today it would be around $200K.
