ABR-1 flushed down when changing strings

    I don't think it just dropped as soon as I took the strings off (I wasn't looking to be honest). I think it got lowered in the process of changing the strings, especially because I am particularly clumsy when it comes to non-locking tuners. I ruined like 4 strings in the process, so there was a lot of wiggling going on. This was my first time dealing with an ABR-1 bridge, before I only had Nashville bridges.

    If the thumbwheel 'fell down' the threaded post then pretty much what PierM said:

    If you do not feel confident dealing with this (replacement of thumbwheel with vintage correct part, or possibly the post if its thread is stripped) then please, get a competent tech to do it for you. Money well spent, grief easily avoided.

    Not a lot of difference between ABR and Nash, unless you mean Gotoh locking TOM-style bridges?
