Is there a difference between the A500K and the B500K pots? I am in the process of doing an overhaul on my standard and I don't want to add the wrong parts.

One is volume the other is tone. All I know is long as it is CTS pot 500K Audio with 10% Tolerance that's all that matters.

the wiring diagram shows the "A" to be the Volume and the "B" to be the tone but my Epiphone had em reversed and it still worked so i wasn't sure if there was any adverse effect to it. I would hate to think that I wasn't getting all that I could from ole Mr. Lester.

the A is an audio taper and the B is a linear taper. The increase in volume is at a quicker curve in the beginning with an audio taper. Linear is consistant with its curve. Does that makes sense?:hmm: I would switch them, but thats just me.

My Korean Epi LP & SG both came from the factory with the "B" pots as volume, "A" pots for tone.

I would recommend going with the audio tapers for volume as well;)
