Long story short the first Marshall I ever played through was a '68 JMP 50 on a '68 8x10 cabinet in my buddies basement 25 years ago. It was both terrifying and mind blowing...both for sound and volume. It was intimidating to say the least but it had TONE.

About 2 years ago I got to buy that amp and cabinet. I immediately sent it to Burke Hunn of Hunn Amplification to make sure everything was in shape and after a few tweeks it was. I also bought a '70 bass cab with early 70s G 12 Ms and hooked the two together. See picture immediately below. Needless to say it continues to be my all time favorite amp....until about 3 or 4 months ago when it wouldn't make any noise....I was panicked and then heartbroken. Fortunately Burke came to the rescue and fixed it. I hope to get it back this week or next. He replaced all the fuses, disabled an unnecessary cap and re-biased it. Thank you baby J!!! Anyway, I just wanted to give Burke a HUGE shout out for the great work he continues to do for me.

I’ll drop you a note on the Serial No. tonight. Mine may be close to yours, I think, but I can’t remember the number right now.

    :cheers2:

    Love it.

My Super Lead was always a little temperamental, so don't feel alone.

Strange enough it's been pretty stable for awhile now, but when it was enlisted for band duty little things would always pop up.

Old amps.....the good and the bad (well maybe it's not bad) about them is that you have to play them to keep them going otherwise the caps dry up and die.
