I've been in somewhat of a lost quest trying to find a replacement for my early 69 custom that I sold last year for whatever stupid reason. Well I think I found it.

They are Waffles but the changed tips, ill fix that later.
    4 Figures so I'm happy.
I must say it is different from my early 69, my 69 had a one piece and body but the dish, sound, and binding on this 68 is worlds different - feels just like a 58 custom I played with a slimmer neck. 51XXXX series.

I got one of these , made late summer. 68. It sounds so magnificent. Notes ring out clearer than any other Les Paul I ve owned . Including two 50's GTs I once owned . I can play it for hours and not want to stop.

Well, there were only 433 of them shipped that year. So you got a very rare piece. I had one of the first ones. A really clean example from the original owner. Loved it. The pickups growled. Was not a big fan of the fretless wonder frets. But it was a super cool guitar that sounded great.

Unfortunately, I only made one demo video of that guitar before I eventually sold it. Check it out below; the gold reflector knobs were original, special ordered by Les Paul himself with three other guitars just like it for a promo of the reintroduction of the guitar at a big store in Canada:

VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY nice guitar.

    Rare as hell too.

I could live with the tuners as is. In the 50's, that's how they did 'em so it doesn't look out of wack to me.
