Just wondering if anyone who knows vintage P90's can confirm that his one is grounded properly? Should there not be a grounding tab on it or should the braided wire be soldered to the bottom plate?
    Thx! GIE1013_pickup4.jpg

That hunk of something looks like it might be the lug?

On the older P90's, does the braided wire have to be soldered to that lug?

From reading this from the other forum, For the ground to be a complete circuit I'd say yes.

"On a 50's and 60's(P90), Gibson attached the braided cable to the ground lead and then to the pickup with a piece of metal with eyelet that screwed directly to the pickup."

Looks like it once was attached, but most of the braided outer seems to have been torn away by (ab)use.
