Sold a guitar to pay off some debts and am left with approx. $250.

What would you suggest spending it on? I've been looking at those Dean Boca 12s, but apparently the bridge is awful and they pickups aren't great. Any experience with these would be cool.

    Otherwise, what do you suggest?

    Thanks!

PRS SE. You should be able to whip out $250 cash and walk with one. Check Craigslist.

Look for yourself a used Squier Classic Vibe; every one I have owned or played is excellent.
You could also get a brand new Squier Vintage Modified in that price range, which I also have. Not quite up to Classic Vibe standards but good guitars for the money and great modding platforms.

I just picked up an Ibanez S420 in matte black for $250. Nearly perfect condition with a fast neck, jumbo frets and the ZR tremolo. Fantastic guitar and I will be posting about it shortly. Lots of lessons for Gibson to learn from, IMHO.

Check pawn shops, mom and pop music stores, and guitar centers used section on the website. You can look at everything GC has from coast to coast.

Squire Classic Vibe Strat (used) assuming you are looking at a Strat type Guitar. I'd also recommend (for Humbuckers) assuming you want an SG type guitar, a used Epiphone G-400.

Not familiar with them, but I can redirect you to some books on maturity.

If you're into projects, you could pick up a kit and make your own guitar. That's on my bucket list.

The future holds that. I don't think it's in the cards quite yet. Lots going on this year.

    Now that's an idea...
