I'm already set with P-90 LPs, but I'd like to have that Classic. OTOH, it will cost what I paid for the three of mine, so, nah. I like the rear mounted pickups on the Standard HP. I wonder why it's never been done before. Sure, the screws look a little...screwy, but certainly no worse than the gigantic rear covers on some guitars. I know that humbuckers can be mounted directly to the wood without using ears on the pickup by having two of the pole pieces double as mounting screws. I like the look of a covered pickup without rings. Just think, you could have an LP with no guard, no poker chip or pup rings, and never have to worry about matching those pieces ever again.
