The guitar is my old Les Paul, a 1995 Les Paul birdseye standard. I've changed the nut (nylon nut), bridge-tailpiece-studs (all vintage-correct Pigtail), 500k CTS pots, bumblebee caps and currently I have installed the (pretty awesome!) Monty's pickups. Also I have three vintage nylon saddles on the high sting (G-B-E) because that way it sounds to me more balanced.

The guitar will never have the hide-glue/vintage trussrod/historic correct wood cut/plastics etc but after trying some pretty amazing 9000 True Historics I honestly believe that my old partner sounds and plays like a proper Les Paul.

Here is a clip I made for the good guys at Crazy Tube Circuits and their Space Charged pedal:

It's a one take thing, sportaneous stuff, some slopiness, enjoy :)

Oh it's a sweet sweet tube low gain pedal, fat but with a great classy attack. Thank you!

Can you share some close shots of the Birdseye? I have a 98' Birdseye that I will never part with!

I love the tone you are getting, you have great feel and touch dynamics. It reminded of playing I heard on youtube for a 5e3 deluxe through a les paul. Could of been you playing, same space in the playing. Well done and Yes!!! those 90's Les Pauls were good one's. I cry thinking about selling my Black and Gold Standard all the time. Cheers

I like what you've done. Personally, chasing playability, good tone, and a nice appearance are the goals for me. I have no obsession to own a massively expensive old original let alone one of those ridiculously overpriced imitations of an old original. Yours has about everything needed to be a great instrument.

    Thanks a lot :)
To me bonding to a guitar is not very different from bonding with a human being. It's a personal thing and sometimes the "best looking" or the "best sounding" or the "perfectly spec'ed" is not what speaks to you. I was 16 when I saw my guitar in a local guitar store and my heart stopped! I begged my father to loan me money haha... 20 years later the love is still there, we grew up together, I know her and she knows me, the goods and the bads... That makes it very special :)

Monty's are trully awesome pickups. For my taste the best I've tried (after a long PAF-style joyrney)
