Man was not expecting the top on this one from the photo's. This has one of the best looking tops Ive seen on a Tokai. Kinda got the Slash/Paul Kossoff thing going on IMO. Something went wrong with me bought 3 this week so imagine I will be passing this or a 1980 LS 80 on in the future. Gonna rewire and add Burstbucker 1 and 2 to this one. I love the color on that top ----Is it slightly darker at the edges or is that just how it appears in the picture?

Is it a vaneer or is it a solid top?

Get a pic of the backside of the route to see if the top grain matches up. Lovely guitar either way Swampy.

I blew up that top pic and the top seam looks to be off to the right by about 1/32" to 1/16" compared to seam below it. Nice looking guitar either way Swampy. :thumb:
I don't know why my pics never load full size.

Looks soild to me. Did Tokai use vaneer tops then and or ever for MIJ LP guitars?

Damn that top is sweet, me personally I'd be very tempted to strip all that poly off and reshoot it in a nitro or a stain finish.

Funny we've been talking so much about her top, her playability has been overlooked. Neck is more of a Rounded 60 and she's right at 8.9lbs. Has a Duncan JB in bridge and Epiphone in the neck. Surprised how good she sounds like she is but y'all know me gotta throw all new parts in her along with some Burst Buckers
