I am restoring a 1965 Melody Maker and want to know from anyone out there a hard case that fits this model well. I have the original case, but being 50+ years old it has seen better days. I have searched a lot on the internet and have found 2 possibilities.

    TKL AR100C

Does anyone have experience with either of these cases holding a '65 Melody Maker.

    Thanks.

I don't have any experience with either of those cases, but I would suggest a 70's/80s Gibson protector/chainsaw case. The fit might be a bit tight on a Gen 1/2 until the padding wears down, but a gen 3 will definitely fit. I just shipped a '65 melody maker in one of those gen 3, but have had them in 1/2s before as well. Depending on condition/# of remaining latches gen 3s range from $80-$250.

I've been carrying Melody Makers in various Les Paul cases for 35 years with no problems.
The case that came with the 2015 LP Special is good for carrying a Melody Maker.......actually that was the best thing about the 2015 special
