I had a surprise visit from an elderly woman in the early morning hours. Here is the result.
Nice video and playing. I prefer the sound at around the 7 minute mark for this particular guitar.
Looks very similar to a 59 I am in the process of buying. 11 screws, however.
Thanks for the video.
You make some of the best video demos I have ever seen or heard. Thank you very much!
Nice sounding strat and nice playing Mike. Thanks for posting it.
Sorry for being late, but I meanwhile headed south in Europe for some holidays. Of course in the clean sound example you are mentioning, the fine character of this guitar comes through better than in the high-gain distortion example before. I used the JCM2000 amp in the beginning because a lot of folks on Youtube voiced their wish over the last weeks that I play this kind of vintage guitar over more modern or well known amplifiers. However to a certain degree the true character of such a vintage beauty would be better represented by using also a fitting vintage amp (like I did in the clean example with the 1970 Ampeg VT40).
Good luck!!! And 11 screws on the pickguard are OK too!
I enjoyed the video so I hope you didnt take my comment as criticism. I own a 1970 strat and play it often through a Fender eric clapton tremolux. Great combo. Agrees very well with each other.
Very nice playing and well done video, Mike! I like all of your stuff posted on YouTube. You are as entertaining as the playing, lol. Thank you for posting this here.
