1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard M69 cream pickup ring reference photos:

I've always been mildly annoyed that there were no really good reference photos for cream M69 rings on-line. So, here is my first attempt at capturing the details. FYI, I found them VERY difficult to shoot.

    Thanks Eric!

I'm looking for a set of reproduction rings for my HM. These will come in handy.

Just curious, for the M69 experts here (certainly not me):

What is going on in this particular spot, on the bridge position ring?

(Sorry my link is not working for some reason...)

Did the ring come (new) from the factory with that "dent" right there in that spot, or is that somehow the impact of other factors, over the years (wear, tensioning of the mounting screw, something like that...)?

How do the Throbak rings compare. They seem to look real to the untrained eye.

Fantastic pictures of the real deal. It would be interesting to see pics like these of repro's like the throbak's to be able to compare them in this thread.

Were they this cream color when new or how they changed with age? If how was the color like when new? The ones today seems more pinkish. But they vary a bit.

Yet you "appraise" bursts by internet photos all the time. :wow:

Nope. I've never appraised a Burst from internet photos. I have certainly outed many fakes....but that is not "appraising" one.
