So I just spotted this on eBay for £250,000...

I'm no expert on the '59, but they do always fascinate me...any thoughts on whether this one is genuine? It certainly looks the part, though must have had a refin at some point from that colour.

That one's gets cheaper. In a few years, it'll be shopped for $100k.

From the tenor of the posts in that thread and others i think "Lash Up" would be more appropriate descriptive term than "59" or "Vintage".

I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you what it isn't.

There's also this he's posted for sale. This was discussed briefly in the link chasenblues posted. Again, a lot doesn't look right with it.

He also seems to claim it's been fitted with a '59 neck. And that its a 50s guitar thats been given a new flame top.

Headstock and the tuners don't right for a vintage neck. the rosewood and neck binding does have a vintage look to it, but surely its bs.

I'm to lazy to look for the thread/s right now,But that guitar has also been around before and discussed on both forums.

"PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN OLD 1959 OR 1960 LES PAUL, IT IS SOME KIND OF CONVERSION....

PLEASE BE AWARE THIS GUITAR IS VERY HEAVY WHY I DO NOT KNOW, COULD POINT TO A VERY EARLY LES PAUL AS THEY WERE HEAVY, I AM TOLD...

Please note this guitar is made using Honduras mahogany, no longer available, I had this confirmed by an expert in woods."
