The reporting will help, when I send a message to the seller that he's not getting paid, for listing a counterfeit.

I'm not even sure he understands what you are saying. That object description it's clearly a garbage auto translation.

with most scams the scammer has shill bidders so they play the cat and mouse game of how much can they squeeze out of you before they hose themselfs....

but then they will contact you and say "the winning bidder backed out , do you want it for xx dollars?"

bid it to $100k, then tell them you will pick it up and pay then...play scam the scammer..:fingersx:

Hmmm the intention is good, but this also has the risk to give way more credit to the auction and I wouldn't be surprised to see someone raising your bids.

BTW I asked all my friends to report this to ebay, but looks like they (ebay) don't give a damn. Also reported to Gibson.

To me what really doesn't work is the poor job on the bridge... What the hell is going on there? I mean, maybe, nowadays, Gibson would probably do a botched job like that, but in 1957...

More like a legit copy, with a fake logo.

That definitely isn't your typical "counterfeit".

Well I have seen tonnes of fakes with nibs, but I agree this was more looking like a scratch made replica attempt, not typical chinese knockoff.

There was a discussion about this guitar on a social media page, and a pretty well-known rock guitarist weighed in saying he had shown the pics to a vintage L.P. expert, and was fairly confident it was legit. Apparently rosewood boards on these were rare, but did indeed exist.

Not sure about the laundry list of other anomalies you guys have pointed out...

I'd be interested in hearing from the vintage expert. I'm only learning-as-I-go, with no intention of becoming an expert.

The pics seem pretty damning on this guitar. I would love to discuss it with someone who has handled these guitars a lot.

As for that fretboard.... the board and frets show little to no wear. The rest of the guitar shows plenty of wear.

The cutaway screams "stay away", to me. It just looks wrong.
