    I confirm !
My conversion was braught back to life by Yuuki after 40 years waiting somewhere in thé US...and was modified to get dogears p90
Now back to life and played almost every Day and revealing that she is clearly à survival but still there for many years of hard playing ! With no spéculation on price
Vintage gears are made to be played...nothing else ...this is my point of view...as I m a fan of player grade gears

i've learned two things while reading this thread. One, you are a very talented guitar builder and finisher. And two, some people are desperate to win an argument even when there isn't one.

Here's an old video of Phil X playing a 55 conversion.
Crazy to think it started as a goldtop.

That's a western maple veneer top, which Scott Lentz is famous for.

Thanks for all the positive comments guys! I do love my job :)
Here's another cool guitar passing through- early '68 converted back in the '70s...very cool figured top, with very unusual ribbon quilt flame under the guard.

wow man, you are an artist. these are absolutely magical finishes. as far as i'm concerned a conversion is a perfectly cool thing to do. just as you've said, it gives those on a typical salary the chance to own an instrument that tics all of the boxes as far as construction and authenticity are concerned. those who want goldtops can simply... not convert them. lol. if i ever have the scratch to grab a beat up mid-'50s lester, i will, and i can say without a doubt that i will send it to you.
