    What do you want?
New, old, burst (colour?), custom, etc?

Well, you should probably list your desired options on a LP so we can help point you in the right direction....

A used Tokai LS150 or LS160 comes to mind right off.

i settled on an ebony obg 57RI. I had similar spec wishes apart from I was happy with 2 pc back. love it and couldnt be happier with the bang for buck on this one.

the tokai 160 with the right top would have been a close call as would the bacchus series that wulf linked to. maybe wait for one of those with a nice top to come on sale and go for it.

I know this is in "others" but I've bought a number of early 2000 standards for under your price range. They have a nice chunky necks and one piece backs with flame tops.

For that money you should be able to find a "real" Les Paul instead of a copy.

I saw a G0 and a G8 for 1,800 each at the local GC last summer. (Clackamas OR)

And they were utter pieces of crap.

They're long gone, but had a new batch a month ago. Still not worth it, even tho they were much better.

Did I mention that the ones last summer were utter pieces of crap?
