Well, they got some stuff right....

But, really, since when is rap and hip hop even considered music?

And Kurt Cobain blowing his brains out? That changed music forever?
I'm wondering if they listed the events in the order of importance? If so,
    they got the order wrong.

I'm not referring to the article, but rather to the list of what they consider significant (see the bottom of the page of the article).

    4. March 30, 1994
Kurt Cobain buys a Remington M–11 20–gauge shotgun and a box of ammunition
Six days later, grunge and its reluctant poster boy are dead.

    2. August 11, 1973
    Kool DJ Herc invents hip–hop

    57. June 23, 1987
    Tiffany tours malls

I don't consider those (amongst others) to be all that significant in the world of music, that's all.

    Changed the world ?
The only part it played in my life is having to change stations or channels
    more often .
Just 100 days of shit stain on the undies of society.

Hip Hop Slop and Rap Crap is not music in my mind. It's generally
stolen loops and Mindless Negative Garbage coming out of some Jerk that can make better sounds with his ass than his vocal cords .

Grunge Rock was some of the crappiest suicidal dribble I've ever heard.
They couldn't even play their instruments ! I for one am glad that it was blown into oblivion .
