That's Canadian money for a 25th anniversary Vai jem 7 string passion & warfare edition.

Now I've held and played his "run of the mill regular" 6 string jem ($4500) and thought it was nothing special at all especially for that absurd price but now one for $10k?

Who do Ibanez think they are? Who buys these? I can see spending that kind of money on a 60s or 70s LP rather than just another Floyd rose superstrat with zero sustain or tone.

You're paying for the expert craftsmanship that goes into the finger grips on the handle drilled through the body. Because if there's anything a $10k guitar needs, it's a giant retarded looking handle drilled through the body.

I saw Vai with David Lee Roth. I think he should see if Eddie would spot him a Frankenstrat. All he did was play EVH riffs all night long. That said, it was better than what he normally plays...

But it helps so much moving the guitar from point "A" to point "B"!
    :dunno:

    Point "A": Case.
Point "B": Where you stand when you finally attach the strap to the strap holders.
    * Formula can be "modified" to "A" being the stand where the guitar... stands.

Vai said he uses the monkey grip/handle for a certain technique when he plays.

I just checked the $10k guitars and they actually don't have the monkey grip.

At least it doesn't have that goddamned ivy inlay on the fretboard. Now pardon me while I puke over the memory of it.

What? No monkey grip handle? Does it at least have a built in fan to blow your hair back just right as you play? For 10k i want some seriously awesome hair blowing in the wind just like Vai

I think that's built into the case like those old Silvertone amps.

I have a Korean made $400 Ibanez and I love it... but i would never pay $10K for an Ibanez.. I even see their top line Prestige are overpriced at less than $2K

    My shredder...

I like the look of some of the Vai guitars. I doubt I'd like playing them though. The inlays are pretty, but they're not very good for referencing which fret you're on. Plus, I can't play thin necks. They make my carpal tunnel flare up.

Worth $10,000? Not to me. If I were to spend that much on a guitar, it'd either be PRS or from a small luthier. To each their own though. I'm sure there are guys who love Vai's work and collecting his guitars as much as some of the guys here love vintage Les Pauls.

I like the vine. Actually I like the JEM. I owned one a few years back but sold it.
