This guy is amazing, a true innovator for the next generations, this is a guitarist that sets a whole new game.

To me his electric guitar playing is fairly frivolous. Lacks melody and musical essence. Technicality over purpose and soul. Innovator for next generations?, a bright future of nonsense guitar playing, yet a bleak one for those who enjoy classy licks and a bit of space in music.

I like his tone though and his heavy drop C tuned riffs? (not sure if it's drop C)

See, I love Buckethead. I've just been listening to King James. :thumb: :thumb:

What I like about Buckethead, for the most part, is that he has rememberable melodies and substance. Evan though he does some experimental and brainless finger yammering, a lot of his tracks are very good and the sounds and notes he picks stay in your mind and inspire you. This guy is fruitless by that aspect. I've already forgotten everything he played.

This guy just seems generic and bland. Evan though his technical abilities are unbelievable!

Listen to his music whilst not watching him play. Listen with your ears, not your eyes and you might see where I'm coming from. It's only impressive to me when I see his fingers flying all over the place and appears difficult.

Really, my first and last album was COLMA, what a waste of time, after that i felt he had nothing and still he has nothing to offer for me, just another clown with chops and not soul.

Technically incredible, melodically lacking in substance.

I could listen to one or two sings, then I'd put something else in the cd player.

I'd rather hear BB King play 5 notes over this guys 500.

:laugh2: Colma! It is what it is. It's a collection of mellow acoustic tracks.

For mom is very nice. Much better than this brainless bird flying around the place.

You say, "another clown with chops and no soul"- That's my view on this guy. Nothing remarkable. Just bland shred with the occasional three note pattern for an ounce of melody.

B.B King rules, i leaned his vibrato long time ago and i still admire him, his on top of the list.

Yes this guy lacks soul too, but his more masterful then buthead.

I'd have to agree with this and FS's assessment. I'm not actually sure he's got that much rhythm - it all sounds a bit haphazard to me although I appreciate there are elements of Jazz in there. Also, on the first clip, I can't actually tell what's him playing and what's a backing track ... but maybe the video/audio sync is out?
