Hope not, a beauty like that, i will never sell it.
I'm with River on this one. Looks cool, for sure. But there's a certain amount of character and soul that goes with an old, heavily played guitar. Faking it is just faking it, IMHO.
amen to that - i think HM and DJ and guys like that do really great work...i really really like this one though!
It turns out that the owner of this guitar isn't who I thought it was, but he has recently signed up at the other forum.
does who you think the owner was have another guitar at HM getting done?
Very pretty... Reminds me of the first burst pics I ever saw.
this one is pretty nice too:
Dave Johnson Package A KILLER R9 - Les Paul Forum
it's currently for sale...it's BTW a verified Braz. board # '03...
I have to say Kim did this perfect, he painted the real color of an old burst, take a look at this, it is a real burst, search the number over at burstserial, they are identical, only the flames change.
Dear god that is beautiful...I can't express to you guys how much I envy the man who owns both that real burst and the reissue. That is just amazing that someone was able to reproduce it so well
Very nice indeed. After seeing this one, Kim talked me into a
finish very similar to this one.
HM is in the process of doing a makeover on "Old Yella".
But to whom this one belongs to, it is a keeper, stunning.
You did good on this one Kim.
Just saw the ad. Is that guy taking hit on it?
He's taking a huge hit on it. I believe he paid considerably more than that for just the guitar...not including all the work he put into it, along with all the aftermarket parts, etc.
after butchering the inlays DJ installed, It would definitely lose some value !MHO, NO?
I just looked at the close-ups...why did he do that to to those inlays? At least the guitar is sold.
being a verified Braz, i would have never mess with it. In the end, it is or was his guitar so.... hope he finds what his looking for in a guitar, no offense to him, tho.
sorry to hijack the thread....
So Gibson Braz wood is better then HM Braz wood?
dont think so
my point is: its a limited run with a verified Braz board...and a decent looking guitar to start with.
also this subject has been beat to death as well
had the neck been reprofiled a little thinner I would have GLADLY brought it home to Reflectorland...
