Ok, so I intend to start saving for a nice guitar / amp package when I get a steady income. I'm currently looking at a white Explorer and a Line6 Valve Spider III at a total of €1900.

What do you think would be a good "kit"?

    Go nuts guys.

The white Explorer would be cool. Which Spider?

I don't see any issues with either of your choices. Should be loud!

Which style of music do you play EtriX? I don't know how much stuff goes for in Sweden, but I'll try and help.

For rock, I say an SG (presuming you already have a Les Paul) and a Marshall JCM800 combo (maybe a half-stack if you gig alot).

If you play country/folk and/or other styles that tend to evolve around clean tones, I'd say a Fender Stratocaster or Telecaster and a Vox AC30CC2. There are also many sweet-sounding fuzz boxes out there if you want to add some distortion to your range of tones. (See my signature. The Guv'nor not only sounds sweet, but will also give you that classic Marshall tone for under £50. The Vox Satchurator simply sounds awesome. Your choice.)

Then again, I'm really no expert. This is just based on what I've learned about amps and guitars through simply trying them at the store. Well, best of luck, and I hope you find the rig of your dreams.

Fearless: I dable in every genre there is :D
I'll most likely buy from Thomann since the prices here in Sweden are insane...
I would kind of like a MIA Strat or Tele but the white ex is so nice :D

I needed to stir the pot so I've added the LTD EC401 to the mix:

or a MIA Fender Strat standard:

Both fit the bill quite well :D

    ESP/LTD EC-401: €698

    Vox AC15 CC1: €661

    Line6 POD XT Live: €398

at a total of around €1700 which is well within my budget, and I'll get everything, a good tubeamp, a good modelling effect and a good guitar :D:dude:

If you need a package that is suitable for many styles, I really think a Telecaster or Stratocaster, maybe even a P90 SG, through a Vox AC15/30 (with a nice fuzz pedal) or Marshall JCM800 really would cut it. I'll encourage a Strat because the neck pickup is suitable for blues, the middle pickup is good for jazz, rock and folk, and the treble pickup is good for country, making Strats very versatile instruments. Remember that with some distortion, even more tones are obtainable.

If I could find a p90 SG I'd pick one up instantly.
I've been thinking of mixing a strat and the vox before and it still tempts me a lot :D
I might go and buy a Blade California or something like it.

I know this is a very old thread, but what did you actually buy, EtriX?
