When I think of a kick-ass player that has a kick-ass sound with an SG, to me it's hands down Barry Goudreau.... The lead work on "Hitch A Ride" to this day still moves me

A week ago Monday I went to Tulsa to see Paul McCartney in concert. His lead guitarist had a '61 replca SG Les Paul with a Maestro trem, instead of the side-pul trem that my real '61 has. Can't remember the guy's name, but he was very good. Somehow, they turned the end of "SGT Pepper" into a real shred fest. He was an outstanding SG player, and I can't even remember his name. But I do remember his music.

Angus, and i get tierd of the santana, hendrix, and SRV too. Im just not into long guitar solos it gets old an anoying after a while. They are great players but im a rythm man myself. Listen to Ian anderson from Jethro Tull now thats a great guitar player.

You are right Page is God. Thought i would add this, the reason I started playing, was when a friend of mine came over when i was 15 back in 91, he played thunderstruck on a black gibson sg. I thought it was the greatest thing i had ever seen and the guitar was the coolest guiar i had ever seen. So i guess if it were not for angus, and my friends black SG i might not have ever learned to play. Needless to say I have a SG now and thunderstuck was the first song i learned to play.
